Yes, wives who protect their husbands to the exclusion of all else is, unfortunately, very realistic. They even choose their husbands over their own children sometimes. Maggie killed herself because she realized Joe was going to get caught, and she didn't want to live without him.
I agree with everything Lauren said. I've seen women choose their husband/boyfriend over their own kids. It's like they can't live without him. And, I do think Maggie knew Joe was going down so this was the end of the line for her.
I agree. So many women in situations like this will defend their significant other to the bitter end. I think she finally realized how wrong it was and that led to her ending her life.
Ditto for me. Saint Maggie realized life as she knew it was forever gone. She took the easy way out, as usual. Never her fault.
