Yeah, I read this book a while ago and just didn't love it. I am not sure why, but I think I just don't like the writing style of the author since I wasn't a huge fan of This Woven Kingdom or Watch Me, either. Sometimes you just don't click with a style, I guess this is mine, hahaha.

I understand what you mean, even though I haven't read her other books. The writing didn't catch me that much either, but I'm really invested in where the story will go. And I think Warner is a huge reason for that hahah.

Yes, I totally agree with you. I finished the second book, and overall, I think it's fine but nothing more. I found the writing a bit worse this time, maybe because in the first book it reflected Juliette's unstable mind, but now it just feels annoying. And yet, I'm still invested. The plot is slow but still good enough to keep me going.

I didn't mind her writing in Shatter Me because I thought Juliette was interesting. She isn't the type of character I've read about before, given her circumstances. But after a while, she started to annoy me a little. Now I feel kind of indifferent toward her.

Agree, I love this author bc she did A Very Large Expanse of Sea (great book), but couldn't get into Shatter Me. I started it, put it down bc I didn't like it, then reread it bc a coworker told me the series gets better, but I never tried to read the rest.

Same for me. I am not sure what it is about my personality that doesn't vibe with this writing style, since I am for sure in the minority here, but I just can't get into it.
