I agree with you Audrey - I've just finished it, and enjoyed it. I suspect I'll definitely try his novel House of Gold soon. Thanks for letting us know about this story.

I have started reading Spring Festival by Xia Jia.

I got about 60% through Spring Festival, and found myself skimming. Shortly after that I just gave up. I tried.

At least you gave it a try Teresa. I enjoyed it - my only complaint was that it was too short - and I'm still planning to read A Summer Beyond Your Reach, her larger collection of short stories. (For some reason - or maybe no reason - I seem to be going through a "short story" phase at the moment).
