A new interview with me, Perry Brass, is up on BAMMER & ME, a great podcast site moderated by Mike Balaban. You'll hear about my growing up impoverished in the violent, racially segregated South; leaving home at 17 to discover queer San Francisco, an adventure I described in my memoir, A REAL LIFE, Like Mark Twain with Drag Queens; about my moving to New York at 18 and diving into the gay underground before Stonewall; about my involvement with the radical Gay Liberation Front, and what I did for numerous dyring friends during the AIDS Crisis. I hope you'll take a look at it. Let me know if you have any comments or questions. And let Mike Balaban know you saw it!

I have quite a few former lives behind me. Escort, drug dealer, CEO. Now I find myself here, on Goodreads, daring to introduce a different identity. A writer.
My book, Through the Flesh ๐, was written over eight turbulent years. It moves between Tel Aviv, Amsterdam and Cyprus. It carries madness and tenderness, addiction and survival, a manic love story and the weight of silence.
I prefer not to say too much, because mystery has its own rhythm โจ. Some readers call it brutal, others poetic. To me it is simply truth, written without filter.
I am glad to be here and curious to see who will cross paths with me ๐ฎThrough the Flesh
