Sorry ... My husband was in the hospital since Sun Aug 17, including two days in ICU. I was there most of the time as well. So, I never got a nomination thread up.

I'll come up with some possibilities and put up a poll shortly.

Thanks for your patience.

Carol | 4333 comments Tessa...I hope your husband is doing better. Make things easy for yourself...you deserve it. Do something simple like maybe "school days".

Thanks, Carol.
He's home as of Saturday, but still weak (being bed-bound for several days really zaps your strength).

Poll is up and invite is out.

KISS, Keep It Simple Stupid. Don't try and push yourself to hard we will survive even if there is no challenge this month. Family must always come first.

As we are heading into Autum/Fall on your side of the world and Spring on mine what about a a challenge of seasonal opposites Just as an Idea.

Spring v Fall/Autumn
Summer v Winter
Day V Night
Friend V Enemy
Love V Hate
Right V Wrong
Strength V Weakness
Rich V Poor
Sun V Moon

What a great idea, Carolyn! The poll is already up and voting has begun, but please suggest this for the October challenge (It'll still be Autumn/Fall - Spring)

I like your suggestions...please do put them up for vote for October.

Carolyn Saunders | 27 comments where do I find to vote for the theme? I have gone through everything and can't seem to find it

Carolyn Saunders | 27 comments Found it. Just me having a very blond moment. I am very dark, almost black hair.

Well, I suppose it's worth repeating, Carolyn....

At the top of the group page is a box on the right and one of the links is polls. Click that and the most recent one should be on top.

Also, I send a message out each month to all members alerting them that's time to vote. The message includes a link to the poll. (I think it does, at least ... )

Carolyn Saunders | 27 comments I didn't get the message but that's ok. You've had a lot going on this month and I found the poll button so all is good. I had a really big weekend and I am still recovering. I was in charge of a camp for 25 five to ten year old girl guides/scouts and had to spend the entire night re writing the Sunday program because of a big change in the weather that evening, making it impossible to have the girls outside for any of Sundays activities.

A first for our poll ... we had a three-way tie!

SO, I asked my husband to pick a number between 1 and 3 and he picked # 1

Back to School: Read a book with a character who is attending school (any level from kindergarten to college)

ALSO ...

Since I will be recovering from my shoulder replacement surgery all the rest of this month (Surgery is Sept 3), I'm going to follow Carol & Carolyn's suggestions to Keep It Simple.

Our October theme will be another of the tied options.
Leaves turning colors: Read a book with an orange, yellow or red cover.

The request for nominations and another poll will happen in October for our November theme.

Happy reading!

I will put my opposites idea up for November voting as it will still be the correct time of year, although anytime of the year is perfect for my suggestion of polar opposites.
