I’ve only read a couple dark romance novels, but I really like books that heavy topics. I’m wanting something based in an academy to start my fall/halloween reading!! If anyone has any recommendations please lmk!!!

Oh I love Edge of Darkness it's so good! it's not in an academic setting tho.

Gallows Hill trilogy by Katelyn Taylor
Legacy of Gods by Rina Kent
Royal Elite by Rina Kent
The LORDS by Shantel Tessier

Devil's Night by Penelope Douglas isn't in academic setting but does have high school flashbacks, and also really good fall vibes.

Also Dear Reader, I think it's in a college but I haven't read it yet. Heard good things

I read Dear Reader and its second book, recently and it is sooooo good. It had twist that I was NOT expecting and turned me onto a new author! For those of you that don’t like cliff hangers the third book comes out on 9/16/25, so pending on how fast you read, you may want to wait. I hate them, and I am going insane. I don’t know if it is the end of the series or not.
