What Do You Think About Adding Buddy Reads to the Group?

What does everyone think about adding Buddy Reads to the group as another option for a group read? A buddy read is when individual members suggest a book to read and other members can say they want to join them. Then they have to come up with a start date and an end date (usually a month long).

I just thought it could be an option for more group participation, especially if not everyone is interested in reading the official Book of the Month. What are your thoughts?

This is for Adelaide: only Moderators can create a new folder, so if you’d want to add Buddy Reads to the group, only you can add the Buddy Reads folder. Then other members can create their own book title thread within that folder when their buddy read needs to be set up.

We have 446 members. I assume some are lurkers who don’t want to read the offcial book of the month. If they could pick a book they actually want to read, perhaps we would have more participation. Or maybe not. Maybe lurkers are lurkers forever. I’m just trying to get more group participation going. What is your opinion?
