If you two are published or publishing on amazon, be aware they will cancel your KDP accounts and books for this type of activity. check the KDP community threads for examples.Edit: giving advance copies is fine, but if the person who receives the advance copy is also an author you are opening a can of worms with your accounts on the line.

I understand completely. The rules are restrictive, but I can also see why. I agree with them as it keeps the books unbiased according to Amazon. To keep my books from being seen in the wrong light or being outright blocked from KDP I haven't even told anyone in my family. I believe the only people who know are those who have seen my amazon ads or will see my Goodreads book giveaway in a few days when it goes live.

It's a little sci-fi, a little speculative, a little literary. A love story. An adventure. A family saga. It's a meditation on technology and humanity.
