Rowan | 662 comments Is school evil?

I’ve been homeschooled all my life, but I’m thinking of going to ASFA (Alabama school of fine arts) next year, and I’ve heard mixed things about school in general. Some say they love it, others say it’s exhausting and bad.

I’ve also heard many a horror story that make it seem like school is literally hell on earth.

Katniss Everdeen | 215 comments Is it a private school or a public school. Cause I went kindergarten to 2 grade in a private schools and it was fine. (I didn’t finish 2 second grade tho cause of COVID) But now I homeschool too, so.... I have heard that public school is.... not great. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Rowan | 662 comments It’s public

⠀۶ৎAbby۶ৎ | 114 comments Public school isn’t that bad but i can definitely that’s there a lot of fights, drugs and not so nice people and most kids are either gonna ignore you or make fun of you. I have always gone to public school expect middle school i went to private school and i can say they are definitely different. Public school was worse but you just have ignore a lot of the “popular kids” cause those are fakest ones and have the most drama in their big friends groups well at least in high school there is idk about college though.

Scout (shouta aizawa’s version) ੈ✩‧₊˚ | 781 comments going to an arts school will probably be better than going to some random ahh public school. school can be rough, but i also feel like its a good experience to have because it teaches you how to socialize, and how to manage stress and burnout, and a lot of people i know who were homeschool their entire life really regret it because they didn’t feel like they were prepared for adulthood. i personally think you should give in-person school a try, because if you hate it you can always switch back. (btw this is coming from somebody who was homeschooled for two years for non-covid related reasons and then switched back to public school)

claire! [school semi-hiatus] | 464 comments cant help, ive gone to a private school since i was two so 🤷‍♀️

✨Emily✨ (Reed Darling’s version) | 133 comments I’ve only ever gone to private so I can’t help but I still think school is evil bc we have to be there for like seven or eight hours then they give us two hours worth of homework to do and we all learn in different ways they’re forcing us to learn the same thing in the same way and we have to sit at a desk in uncomfortable chairs for hours to have no time for exercise outside of gym and thirty minutes at lunch for most schools except mine is twenty minutes and the dress code is sexist at public schools from what I’ve heard and uniforms at my school are annoying and there are just so many things wrong with school including how they sometimes hire evil teachers. But you do get to see friends everyday so that’s great. So ya that’s my opinion as a private school girlie

kitcantspell ( semi hiatus ) | 66 comments i just want to say that homeschool can ALSO cause stress, burnouts, anxiety, but on the plus side you do get to homeschool daily, so that shouldn’t be a misconception
sincerely, a homeschooled girl suffering from burnout <3

to answer the question, i say go for it!! public scohols can 100% be scary and intimidating, not to mention the fights and everything, but if you feel drawn to the school, dont let it hold you back

Katniss Everdeen | 215 comments I have some really fun and sweet friends from public schools. All you have to remember is do the right thing. Don’t think just cause some kids are doing drugs or bad things you should too. Make sure you are in the right group.

✒️ ⊹ hami (s-ia; school) (persona5addict) | 46 comments public schools can be draining depending on the teachers, people, & amount of work they give out, but ive met my favorite people ever there as well !!

Dragon Queen | 285 comments If I had the option of home school or public schools I would always pick public school even though I have been screamed at and had people follow and try to assault me, you just make great friends and learn how to communicate with others better, and yes you will see some not good stuff but that's how the world works unfortunately, so either way you will see it eventually as long as you hang out with people that respect you as a person and friend and can have a good school experience. It's terrifying but so exciting especially when you have school parties or dances.

lilly ♡ (semi-hiatus) | 1467 comments i've been to public school my whole life and it rly hasn't been that bad for me mostly but just try to hang out w the right people bc some people ik got assaulted at school or drugs. but if it were me i'd prolly choose public school
