Hi Mari, I have Rewrite the Stars 88k words, contemporary Australian based Romance story of Cam and Curie. (two women)After a divorce, Curie is out to reconnect with the woman she was before being a wife or a mother. She finds herself leading her dance students at Harem nights at a bar in Sydney, and finds where her path lays. Will she find her way, or become lost?
It's a slow burn romance focusing on the emotional aspects of relationships spicy: 1 / 5 (door closes on detail).
I also have a Romantasy Blind Love set in alternate universe, Blind Love. 100K
Millie has spent 5 years clawing her way back into respectable life, but her past refuses to let go. Complications compound when she meets Puck, love at first sight, and the threads of her past bleed through. Will she finally shed all those old ties, or will she lose him - and possibly herself in the process?
D&D characters meets futuristic world meets Friends.
This one comes with character list and complete Terms Glossary.
If you want to get entirely crazy - I have a poke fun at Werewolf WIP based in outer Sydney Australia that together is about 100K I'm building - fully unedited. Psi Harrow, coming of age as she finds her way in this unruly world of Pack law that is so archaic and Patriarchal - and she refuses to bend. More a fall in love with self than romance.

Hi Mari, I really liked your blurb. The Oxford setting, the crumbling estate, and the dynamic between Quincy and Edward sound wonderful. I’d love to beta read it for you.
I’m finishing up my own romantic comedy, which will be about 80–90K. It’s set in a small English allotment community. The heroine is a former food influencer whose career imploded, and she’s trying to put her life back together. The hero is a French ex-chef whose restaurant collapsed after her review went viral. They end up stuck sharing the same allotment plot. What begins as outright hostility and sabotage slowly shifts into reluctant teamwork, friendship, and eventually something more. It’s more about wit, banter, and slow-burn chemistry than spice, with a strong focus on community and second chances.
Since you mentioned you’re especially drawn to romcoms set in the UK, I think it could be a nice fit for a swap once mine is ready.
You can just send me a message here if you would like to swap!
HI Lieze,I’d love to swap. Your story sounds really delightful. How would you like to proceed…what sort of files do you work with. I am good with google docs —I can probably make anything work though. Cheer, mari
Hi Thesba, Thanks so much for reaching out and for the offer. I am probably not the best to do a beta swap with you as your genres are not something I normally read and I don’t think my critique would be as valuable as say someone well versed in your topics. But, I did follow your profile and I wish you the best with your stories.Mari

In return, I’d love to give you feedback/beta read on your own book of approx the same amount of words or less if you like. I am interested in romantic comedy, historical romance ( if it takes place in the Uk) —not anything American historical- and I love time travel romance. I am an avid reader and have been writing stories since i was a child. I am a kind editor—I know how difficult it is to write a book. I am gentle with my feedback. As for my own book here is my blurb!
Quincy Kirk crossed the Atlantic for her PhD, not a boyfriend. During a break from Oxford, she’s sent to catalogue the private library at a crumbling English estate. She expected dust, deadlines and maybe the occasional ghost, certainly not Edward Harrington: infuriating arrogant , frustratingly handsome….With sparks flying a little sister bent on engineering a happily-ever-after, and a chorus of posh London friends who wield snobbery like a social weapon, Quincy and Edward find themselves tangled in something dangerously close to love.
I am looking for beta readers to let me know. 1/ did the story hold your attention
2/did the pacing feel right for a romantic comedy. 3/ was the ending satisfying
4/were my characters likeable 5/ (the hardest one) were the steamy scenes steamy!! 6/ were there any parts that felt confusing or off. 7/if you had picked this up on kindle unlimited, would you have read it to the end. 8/ at what point (hopefully it doesnt) did it lose your interest.
Thanks everyone.
PS on a spicy level it’s probably a 3 outta 5.
