Carol Weldon | 23 comments How are titles, when in alphabetical order supposed to sort?
Today it was the author Rebecca Zanetti's alphabetically list. BUT it's been others in the past. Alphabetically her list had 3 books starting with 1, then titles starting with A through W, then 5 titles starting with 1, then more titles starting again with A going through Y.
Why numbers at the beginning and midway through? Why aren't all titles listed alphabetically?

Renske | 12219 comments For this author I see when alphabetical sorted at the end again books were she is the primary author, so that wouldn't explain it entirely.

The other explanation in general for strange sorting results can be the 'sort by title' fields. Some books have incorrect data listed, such as the particle incorrect, a subtitle instead of the title, a number in digits or the full word for it, a genre, to give a few examples. Some are human mistakes, others come from the imports.

Scott | 8538 comments Hm, you're right, I didn't go all the way through her list.

Even if the sort-by titles are wrong, they are still alphabetical within their portion of the list, which is odd.

So in essence any anthologies are supposed to be last and any books where the author is the only author are first.
Thank you
