Hello everyone!!! Bare with me during this event. First time player and first time captain here but looking forward to tackling this game with you guys!!Quick introduction:
I am Bubbles and I am just shy of 40. I live in beautiful North Carolina with an incredible husband, 3 fur babies, and 2 turtles. Horror is my absolute favorite genre but I do read a little bit of everything to keep myself rounded lol. When I am not reading, I can be found drawing, painting, cross stitching, or playing video games!!
I hope everyone is excited and can't wait to start!!!
hello, team! my name is Natalie and I am the co-captain for our team. it's my first time playing as well, so good to know I am not the only newbie. here is a little bit about me: I am 25 and live in the great state of Minnesota. I am married along with having some pets, but no children yet. we have a corgi named Daisy May, an orange cat named Fiona, and a gecko named Corona. I work two jobs come school time (September 2nd), so life gets a little bit busy on my end. :) I am a SPED para at a school by day and a CNA at night (LOL). my favorite genres are just about everything besides non-fiction. I do not read a whole lot of them except there has been a few exceptions as of late.
I look forward to meeting all of you. :)

A little introduction on my side too then :DMy name is Yasmine, I am 29 years old and Swiss, but I grew up in Singapore. Currently living and working in Zurich, trying to travel as much as possible to discover the whole world and I love reading and picking up books from everywhere (it's seriously my most collected souvenir :P). I am a software engineer and love coding, but my work is currently taking up a lot of my "free reading time", so I don't have a high book per month set for this challenge. I've recently also started to read other stuff than just scifi and fantasy so I'm branching out into other genres, slowly but steadily :D Looking forward to this game with you all!
hello, team! we are getting down to the wire with needing all members to check in before August 28th. it's about 48 hours away & we would love to have everyone join us. we are missing check-ins from 4 people: Priya, Jess, Alyssa, & Ariel. Hey everyone!! Sorry I am late to the party and just now seeing this. My dad passed away suddenly a week ago today and this whole week has been a nightmare. Everything will settle down by the 1st I'm sure. Can't wait to play with you guys!

Okay so I am finally checking in! <3 I'm happy to play.
Okay, so I have been going over all the rules so I think I got this now lol.We will be rolling last so it may be a little bit before we get on the board but we can still log books on the 1st to start building up our bank.
I just want to make sure everyone is on the same page since I am a newbie myself and can find new games a little intimidating.
I am so ready for the 1st!!!

From talking with the admins, it looks likes our roll will decide what task we get from the spreadsheet.
By any chance, has someone created something we can print out with words and character names et. al. that we should be watching/listening for when we are reading? I started making a list but gave up because I didn't have time to finish it. So... thought I'd check here to see if someone made something. Thanks!

Ookay, I logged my first book that I just finished right now, but once we have our first task I can add more of the details if it could fit.. Sadly TinEye says the most colour it has on the cover is only at 46%, so it's not meeting the 50% minimum requirement :(

We have plenty of options available to make money on books even if they don't fit a prompt with our salary books, etc.

In the past we'd try to use the lower page counts to count for the task we received when we rolled, not sure if we are planning to do the same this time around as well.

Okay guys, just wanted to do a quick check in. Is everyone doing okay? We are the last team to roll so still waiting a little. Team 2 just started their roll so hopefully soon. You guys are doing GREAT!! I just added my books to the logs and saw all the books already read. Great job with all the details in the spreadsheet.
Doing great here. Currently trying to figure out what my next read is going to be that can fit more than one challenge.
I’ve been traveling but will figure out my books and get them added soon.

So, I was going to update once I got this message.We just had our first roll of the game!! We landed on the Genre Junction were an opposing team had to pick a random genre for our prompt.
Natalie is going to take this prompt for us. My goal with rolling is to let everyone know what we landed on and ask if anyone is already reading a book that will fit for the prompt.
Just keep logging all the books! You guys are really doing great!!
