Poetry books are vastly underrepresented in the bookstagram community, so I'm making a post for people to leave all of their recs and show the genre some love. Take a look and maybe even read some, if you feel so inclined. I'll leave some of my favorites down below.

this was a book recommended by maisie herself online, but “The Orange and Other Poems” by wendy cope!! it really gives of tgw vibes here and there and the only bad thing about it is that its really short

mary oliver is a favorite poet of mine. she’s very focused on nature and the interconnectedness of all things in her poems. she’s certainly the more healed version of the good witch (aka there it goes). she has lots of poetry books, but to name a few: devotions, dog songs, upstream, and a thousand mornings.

ooh I remember loving "the poetic underground" by Erin Hanson when I was young and heartbroken, and also went through a major Banjo Patterson phase, I love his style of storytelling.

Love Crush but haven’t delved much into Siken’s other work but current fav is Mary Oliver. Trista Mateer has also really grown on me as well and I recently read a great poem by Caitlyn Siehl so I’m looking forward to reading more of hers!

Passionfruit by Carrice Hodgkins!! A collection of queer poetry all with the theme of fruit. It discusses the experiences of a queer woman in both herself and her relationships.

My favourite poetry book ever is risking everything: 110 poems of love and revelation edited by Rodger Housden and wilted sorrows by Sienna C. Jones :)

I loved Dancing by the Light of the Moon, a book with a collection of poems and a section about memorising poems and the power that holds.

I loved Somebody Give This Heart a Pen by Sophia Thakur, and I am currently enjoying Wild Embers by Nikita Gill.

one of my favourite poets is Emily Dickinson so really any of her poems but my favourite is ‘There is a pain - so utter -‘ & ‘wild nights - wild nights!’

I wrote a poetry collection last year, the title and cover is inspired by History of Man («women’s hearts are lethal weapons»). It is called My Deadly Heart by Anna Rossvang

If you haven’t read her get on Donna Ashworth, I feel like she’s definitely becoming more popular but her collection ‘Hope’ is incredible i’ve gifted it to both my girlfriend and my sister, and her newish book ‘To the women’ is so amazing and speaks on womanhood and the experiences that come with it so so well.
