Katy Lovejoy | 75 comments I'm writing and while I have one book published my mom and sister told me the paragraphs were very short. Is that a problem or not?

Nathaniel (nathaniel_) | 83 comments It depends. Conversations are generally short paragraphs. If its description and narrative that are short paragraphs, its not always bad. Variety is the spice of life. It also depends on your target audience. Also if your reading a story and the worst criticism they have for you is short paragraphs, you're doing pretty well. So good job!!!

I once turned a upper level college paper and the only comment on the 4 page paper was nice font. B-. Apparently there was a better font I could have chosen????

That said, whatever is needed to properly get the description across? I'm not much help..🫣😂

Alif Muntazir | 23 comments I like short paragraphs. It's not a turn-off for me. However, a longer description of a singular event gets on my nerves. Some authors hardly give the readers the space to imagine and interact.

Lilly Britting | 7 comments No. The opposite for me, I personally prefer shorter chapters and paragraphs. I just don't always have the time to read a 20 page chapter and I find that long paragraphs and long chapters go hand in hand.
