Fairhill, Vermont is a quiet little town where everyone knows everyone else, doors are never locked and teens get together in an old cemetery to tell ghost stories. The morning 17-year-old Diana Brewster's body is found in a farmer's field changes everything. The last person to see her alive was her boyfriend Cameron who swears he dropped her off at her home around 11:00 the night before. There is definitely more to Cameron's story than he is admitting to, however. There is also a creepy guy who constantly chatted up Diana at her part-time job. And the gym teacher/coach at the high school that Diana complained about to the principal. The coach was a bit too quick with his touches and whispers for Diana's comfort. There seems to be no shortage of suspects, all of whom are not telling the whole truth. And Diana's ghost herself who can't seem to rest in peace.

I have enjoyed all the books by Shari Lapena that I've read and this one did not disappoint either. It's a very quick read with an abundance of interesting characters and a ghost lingering on the fringes of the investigation.
