Ann (annrumsey) | 17011 comments Our August 2025 Group Read book is Deanna Raybourn's Kills Well with Others
Are you planning on reading the book? No spoilers please on this topic. We have a spoilers welcome thread available when you are ready to discuss the ending, etc.
I thought the group had read the first book in this series to, but now checking on that I am not positive. Hmmm..

Carol/Bonadie (bonadie) | 9528 comments Hi Ann, I also thought we read Killers of a Certain Age together. RIO that I am, I'm not sure it's essential to read the first to enjoy the second. The relationships are reviewed at the beginning, albeit briefly.

I am listening to Kills Well with Others now and enjoying it, after reacquainting myself with the main characters.

Ann (annrumsey) | 17011 comments Thanks Carol - I was shaking my head over this one thinking I had read the first - good to know there is a recap. My turn should be up soon.

Ann (annrumsey) | 17011 comments I grabbed the first book Killers of a Certain Age and am listening to it now. Of course, then I got my turn for this group read of book two Kills Well with Others . I have pushed the hold out for a few days and will plan to read both books. I am liking book one so far - just started it.

Carol/Bonadie (bonadie) | 9528 comments oh, good, Ann. I think it's better if you have all the background from book one before reading book two, it's just not essential. Especiallly for an UOOOR!

Ann (annrumsey) | 17011 comments I finished the first book yesterday! It was very good and I’m glad to have the character introductions in my head. I’ll likely squeeze a couple of other books in before my Libby turn comes up again for book two. Looking forward to it.
No spoilers,
The concept that Billie, Mary Alice, Helen and Natalie are good at what they do, very good in fact, and continue to do so after forty years unencumbered by a few natural physical changes is quite refreshing.

aPriL does feral sometimes (cheshirescratch) I’m reading the first book now because I am certain it will make the second book better. But while the library has book one, the second one is on order, so I’ll have to wait to participate. Interesting premise, though. So far.

Ann (annrumsey) | 17011 comments April: I was very glad I read book one. It’s a good set-up for book two. I’m about a third into this second one.
