1. Looking to friend people who are open to buddy reading / have convos about books! {Send me a request if yes<3}

2. Any advice for new readers? ex: books to avoid / authors you love / your favorite thing about reading / how to tell if a book is good / how to get out of a reading slump.

3. What are some things I should know about Goodreads? ex: lesser known app features / things you wish you had known.

Dragon Queen | 291 comments my advice for new readers is that the quote "never gudge a book by its cover" is true for everything BUT BOOKS, always, always, gudge your books by their covers.
P.S. I'm trying to friend you but it's not working

Bethan (Kai Azer's Version) | 98 comments honestly I am the worst person to ask about how to judge if a book is good because I only buy books I know I will 100% love but just feel it out, if you are unsure whether you will love a book or not just read through the blurb and see the rating and what people have said about it in reviews
my best advice to get out of any book slump is to find a book that sounds really interesting and that makes you super excited to read
it may take a while but just search the internet, you bookshelf, library, bookshop etc. for interesting covers or titles in a genre or author that you know you love and she it sounds like a book you would enjoy (for me things like tiktok always introduce to a new book and then after I see it quite a few times I start to get interested in it and by the time I actually buy it I am really excited to read it after hearing about it online (though do beware of spoilers as I did spoil almost everything that happens in the Shatter Me series to myself though tiktok videos))

Bethan (Kai Azer's Version) | 98 comments also I tried to send a friend request and it won't let me idk what it wrong with my Goodreads at the moment

Carolina | 2 comments Reading advice: don’t listen to audiobooks at work unless you want your boss to ask you why you’re giggling. How do you explain your book boyfriend just made another woman 💦?

Let’s be friends lol 😁

Shi - Jesus is my savior 💕 (shianna4-12-25) | 478 comments My advice for New readers is try starting off with the fantasy genre because you have to use your imagination and who wouldn't want to hang out with a werewolf one of my favorite YA authors is Cassandra Clare she is the author of the immortal instrument series these are for all ages

Dragon Queen | 291 comments I agree, when anyone starts out reading fantasy is by far the best starter, I just wouldn't start by reading romance or especially dark romance. (I read fantasy for a year before I started reading anything with major romance)

Bethan (Kai Azer's Version) | 98 comments I've read fantasy for my entire life really with some like murder mystery books as well and I've only just started reading romance this year as my friend got me quite a few for my birthday and I just find them a bit slow to get into and predictable
I'm not saying that to our anyone off romance its just that I know I would not love reading the way I do if I'd got into it through romance books

Emily | 11 comments @dragonQueen I’d love to friend you and thank you for the advice💗 I honestly always judge by the cover and it has served me well so far. I also think its more fun when its a surprise read<333

Emily | 11 comments @bethan honestly reading something you are excited abt seems rlly helpful for getting out of a slump, especially if I am forcing myself to read books just because I spent money on them. ^^

message 14: by Emily (new)

Emily | 11 comments I am not sure why it won't let me friend people unless I request them it probably has to do with my settings everyone so if you want to friend me let me know so i can request you instead<3 ^^

⋆ ˚。⋆౨ৎ˚ вия (viadustyevsky) | 8 comments hiiiii i added 💌 and i think books people should avoid is books that don't have a synopsis on the back — already i get suspicious if there isn't one on there 😂 like whyyyy are they replaced with sentence reviews ???
