Halibut on the Moon question

I’m wondering about the names in this novel various the names used in Sukkwan Island (as pat of Legend of a Suicide). All names seem to be the same: Jim is the father, Gary is his brother, Rhoda his ex-wife, daughter Tracy. But Jims son is David in this novel and Roy in Sukkwan Island. Is there an explanation for this?
