Pages: 448 pages

Length: 1 month (August)

Participants: Keets, Dolores

Everyone reads at their own pace during a Buddy Read. Because participants can be at different parts of the book at different times, it is extremely important to mark spoilers so that the book is not ruined for someone who is not as far along as others!!!

Mark spoilers by placing {spoiler} before the text and {/spoiler} after the text but use the < and > instead of the { and }.

Here are some questions to help get the conversation started! Feel free to look up discussion questions specific to this book or come up with your own. Just make sure any questions that contain spoilers are under spoiler tags.
Discussion questions are not required but may be a fun way to talk about the book and get to know each other!

Prior to starting:
What prompted you to join this buddy read?
Have you read this author before? What do you think of their other books?

Mid-read:
What character or ideas do you relate to the most and why?
Do you have any favorite quotes or scenes?

After reading:
What was enjoyable or not-so-enjoyable about this book?
Did this book change your perception about anything, either within the book (character development) or in real life?

Dolores | 19 comments I'm super excited about this one. It's the first book I'm going to read by this author, it was recommended by a Facebook friend when I asked what I HAVE to read in 2025, and it's my selection for the Book Girls' Guide's "In Case You Missed It" challenge for August. I'll probably pick it up mid-month.

Jemma Cooper | 47 comments Ahh I’ve just started reading this! Definitely will check back in🤩

Keets | 27 comments I got about halfway through this book last year before I ended up DNFing it — it felt a bit too slow for me at the time. But some of my friends really enjoyed it, so I’m thinking of giving it another shot. Planning to pick it up in a week or two.

Hey! Of course, you’re more than welcome to join! 😊

Jemma Cooper | 47 comments So I enjoyed the premise of the book, however I felt that it could be half of the length that it is? I felt that some of the flashback chapters were really repetitive and not needed?

Dolores | 19 comments I started this one this morning (and probably not going to finish it tomorrow) and wanted to check in here. I'm less than ten (short) chapters in and I'm haunted by the way this author strings words together to tell her story. If this thread is still here as I progress, I'll be back with more thoughts.
