Author Name Help Please

Hello,
I was wondering if someone could please help me? I self published under a different surname "McFarlane", and then released a new edition of my self published book under my given surname "Aibangbee".

All my profiles (amazon author page, website etc. use my given surname "Aibangbee" and I would like my Goodreads author page to match. I have tried to change my surname on my Goodreads author profile to Cairo Aibangbee but it won't let me. It also won't let me claim the Cairo Aibangbee edition of my book on my Goodreads profile (I hope this is making sense)

All this to say:
1. Is it possible to change my author profile name to Cairo Aibangbee while keeping all my books listed as mine even though the older editions are under a different surname?
2. Is is possible to merge or delete the old editions of my book at all or have the latest version with the surname I'm using now appear first?

If your book was published under one name originally, then all editions of that book should retain that name as the primary author even if they were published under a different name (https://help.goodreads.com/s/article/...).

If you want you can contact Goodreads Support and ask them to move your claimed profile over to your new author name (Goodreads Librarians can't modify this for you). Or you can claim the new page using a separate account.

You can set the default edition to be the one with Aibangbee on the cover (https://help.goodreads.com/s/article/...).

You are contacting librarians. You cannot change your name, but if you prefer to be under the other name, you can ask support to transfer your ownership to the new profile. Support links are at the bottom of the page.

Hey, thank you so much for your response!

The only thing is, this seems to be a slight mistake on goodreads as when I claimed my author profile, I claimed as Cairo Aibangbee as I haven't used the name McFarlane for years, however as my first. book was under McFarlane I think it automatically set it as that (I'm assuming).

Is there a way then for me to delete this author profile completely and have the author profile as Cairo Aibangbee with my books associated? I have a traditionally published book coming soon and would just love it to be clear for myself and readers.

I'm just not really sure what to do as McFarlane isn't my name and only the first edition of my first book uses it.

We can't delete it completely, because it is on a book. But support can transfer your ownership to the other profile.
