A Battle Between Who I Was and Who I’ve Become

Yes, it can feel like that, we're so eager to move forward, to lay our past behind. But really, I don't see it as a battle. I see it as a necessary part of the learning process. All learning and all development is a process that takes place in a spiral sort of way, or, to use another metaphor as 2 steps forward, 1 step back etc. Allow the natural development, stay aware and awake to it, trust life and you'll see that life is always on your side, always happening for you, not to you. That's a very different experience, than battle, winning and losing.

As if you’ve grown, evolved, changed deeply… but then, out of nowhere, a whisper says:
"Let me back in… You were weaker with me, but weren’t you more comfortable?"
Question for fellow readers and writers:
Have you ever experienced a battle between who you are now and who you used to be?
Who won—and why?
