Paris | 31 comments 🌸 Make sure you read feedback on your assignments when you receive grading. Take close notice of the constructive criticism but also the things you did well. This will help you moving forward.
🌸I know it’s tempting to do everything last minute because you think you have time - don’t do it, it’s stressful and it won’t be your best work.
🌸Make sure you actually read the paper you are citing/referencing - reading the abstract isn’t enough and doesn’t give you the full extent of information
🌸 When choosing a research project/dissertation, make sure to go for topics you know you are really interested in and will enjoy learning, but also make sure you somewhat know your supervisor and get on well with them.
🌸 If you’re living in student accommodation: People will eat your food/take your stuff without asking - if cupboards have locks or spaces for locks take them. Also when the kitchen is a mess and you didn’t make that mess don’t clean it, people will take advantage of you can expect you to clean after them all the time. Don’t because anyone’s uni mum.
🌸 Join societies and take advantage of freshers week meeting people. Don’t overdo it with partying/going out every night, don’t get distracted from why you’re there. It’s not worth the illness or exhaustion!!! But do have fun and take part in things, and most importantly be you, it will all work out 💖💖

mar | 104 comments TIME MANAGEMENT is the most important aspect of being a student especially if you are working as well . I would recommend using a planner to organize your assignments, study time, and other activities. Also do not be afraid to ask for help. Communicating with your professors and classmates is key! Good luck on your first semester :)

Je'vache (jevache) | 309 comments your advisors will be your best friend, go at least once a month. always listen to professors feedback and have little meetings with them every so often so you guys can get to know each other, even if you don’t have questions just talk with them; puts you both on a similar level rather than just know each other as student-professor. go out go out go out, cannot emphasize this enough but the only reason I enjoyed college was because I was always in clubs and putting myself out there making friends!! you’ll do amazing sweetheart, hope you enjoy it <3
