Diane Moseley | 2639 comments Natural Disasters. -Natural disasters can provoke fear and uncertainty. However, in the bible, we find reassurances that God is in control, and we can trust him in the midst of the chaos. The scriptures teach us to look beyond ourselves and reach out to those who are affected. The bible also reminds us of opportunity for growth, compassionate outreach, and strengthening our faith. -

So we will not fear when earthquakes come and the mountains crumble into the sea. -Psalms 46:2
And you will hear of wars and threats of wars, but don’t panic. Yes, these things must take place, but the end won’t follow immediately. Nation will go to war against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in many parts of the world. But all this is only the first of the birth pains, with more to come. “Then you will be arrested, persecuted, and killed. You will be hated all over the world because you are my followers. And many will turn away from me and betray and hate each other. And many false prophets will appear and will deceive many people. Sin will be rampant everywhere, and the love of many will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end will be saved. -Matthew 24:6-13

“And there will be strange signs in the sun, moon, and stars. And here on earth the nations will be in turmoil, perplexed by the roaring seas and strange tides. -Luke 21:25

Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too. -Philippians 2:4
