The Universe Within by G.S. Jennsen a well-written 3 stars for me (not my cup of tea)

If you like space opera rife with wormholes, larger than life heroes, playing with various dimensions plus good world-building, then this might be right up your alley. It would have been for some years in my reading "career." I don't rate on writing strength alone.

This is a stand-alone novel, so don't worry about its position in two series.

Good pacing, strong world-building, good character arcs.

I personally have been moving off space opera because some of what makes this fun are things I can no longer suspend my disbelief for.
