But all that changed when the Institute was raided, and her mother died. Lyneth ran away to safety. Now, there are times when she gazes in the distance, thinking her mother. Roya was born in New York, but grew up in London. her father turned her into non-human when she was 25. her father died in a warm sunny day. they were happy, laughing and walking down the street, when something hit her throat. she was;; thirsty. she didn't know what exactly happened, but it happened fast. in seconds the street was filled with blood, cops everywhere, gun shots going off in all direction. she then realised what happened. she killed him, she killed her father. she didn't know what she was in till then, she knew she was a vampire. how could her father not tell her? she was mad;; but also scared of what her fate was. she ran, she ran in till she had a hit in the throat again. the found a way to control it after a while, she hunted other things, but still, sometimes it went out of hand. she has been alone since, never met a friend, she did cross human's, but that when she got bad. bad blood. she had no blood. nothing, just stone. she got scared again. she ran to a safe place in the woods, and stayed there for ten years, and then went back to her mother. she stayed there, and she will stay there for her life.

Appearance: Acelin's hair is a deep, dark black. Sometimes in the middle of the night and the moon shines on her hair just right, it can have a tint of navy blue. She keeps it long and uses it to hide her face in any normal confrontation. She puts it up into a tight, perfect pony tail when about to fight or solve a hard problem. It comes down to just below her shoulder blades and falls in soft curls. Her eyes are a molten silver, often changing for lighter to darker shades with the light. She is also strikingly pale, and often jokingly mistaken for a vampire. She is a short 5'7" when standing normally, and 5'4" when hunched in a hiding or hunting mode. Shes only 100 pounds due to her scarce diet and constant exercise. She could and has easily walked into any place 21+ without being checked due to her professional demeanor and tone of voice, and she can easily slip in without anyone even noticing her.

Personality: Acelin is kind, gentle, caring, and easily concerns herself with other peoples well being. She will go out of her way to help others, whether it be solving a puzzle, or getting them something. She has sympathy galore, and can understand people's difficult situation. She works hard, and is patient with those who need help, doing her best to help people grow and develop as humans, and overcome weaknesses. If she knows she can do something to help, she will do her best to do it, and she wont stop until she is finished.
Acelin also loves reading, solving puzzles, and overall intellectual work. If you put a puzzle in front of her she wont stop or take a break until it's done. If it's an impossible puzzle, then she will either solve it, or figure out it's impossible and make it to where it is possible. She likes 'reading' people, figuring out aspects of their life through their physical and verbal cues. If she is faced with a problem or fact, she will solve the problem and fact check. Often she doesn't believe something for a long period of time until she can make 100% sure it is right.
Acelin is a complex person, but very few people know her as well as she knows herself. She is shy, and rarely talks to anyone unless it's crucial for her to help them, or harm them. She usually does solitary activities, and avoids social gatherings like a swarm of angry hornets. Because of her social disadvantage, she often has a hard time conversing with people without being misunderstood, or having her point completely missed altogether. She usually just gets ignored, and doesn't talk to people because of that.
History: Acelin was born in Calais to a loving mother and a seemingly devoted father. When her father found out her mother was pregnant, he left France to hide out in America. Hoping to find him, Adela, Acelins mother, followed him to New York after the baby was born. Of course he then proceeded to go back to France without Adela's knowledge, but she continues to look for him in New York. Having been a retired Shdowhunter, Adela not only enrolled Acelin in Krav Maga on her 8th birthday, but had put a rune on the back of her neck to keep her from seeing anything shadow world related until her 18th birthday or in the case of her dying. It wasn't perfect, and a LOT of things slipped through the cracks, but Acelin didn't say anything.
She taught Acelin survival skills, and gave her a set of throwing knives for her 13th birthday. She said they were made of iron and decorated with pictures from a long lost Nordic tribe, while that was obviously not the case. Acelin practiced agressivly, making her own schedule of school, violin, throwing knives, and Krav Maga. To keep her training during most of her waking hours Adela home schooled Acelin, teaching her effectively and quickly to be able to keep her up to date on her practice. While she was focused more on Acelins self defense (for obvious and demonic reasons), she continued to push Acelin higher and higher on the American grading scale. She was reading early high school level books in the fifth grade, and college level textbooks as a freshman. Acelin loved everything she did, as well as the weekends when she was allowed to go wherever she wanted as a break, as long as she carried her knives along with her. She loved going to the nearby art museum, and never got tired of staring at her favorite peices. She loved art, and while she didn't have time to study it to become a professional, she did doodle a lot. And with those doodles came a LOT of accidental runes. More often than not she would accidentally set a notebook on fire. She would also doodle on her forearm in pen, and more than once accidentally gave herself some weird temporary power. She would of course quickly wash it off, but it was still spooky.
Acelin, now 16, has been doing all of this for a while. When she was 15 her mother died in a fire that spread suspiciously a lot like the fires she would accidentally set on her notebooks. She mourned severely, but kept up her Krav Maga and throwing knife throwing practice, somehow evading the landlord of the apartment building she lived in.
