Russell | 2 comments Hi,

First, thank you for all your good work.

I would like a bio and an image added to the author's page below. The bio that is on Amazon follows that link. Is there any way that I can provide a picture for his Goodreads' bio?

Here is the author's page:

Here is the bio that is on Amazon:

Richard P. Goodwin was born on February 22, 1927, in the coastal town of South Portland, Maine, to a railroad engineer father and a remarkable mother who supported her family as both a skilled dressmaker and an exceptionally talented medium. After his father left the family, his mother raised her children alone, frequently conducting seances in their home. His early years were marked his mother’s phenomenal demonstration of the different phases of her mediumship. Though she discouraged her children from mediumship, Richard awakened to his own abilities at just 14. While his mother was recovering from double pneumonia, he accurately predicted the location of a woman’s missing husband—a revelation that would ignite his lifelong journey as a medium.

Richard’s path was anything but conventional. He worked a variety of jobs in hotels and airlines, quietly offering spiritual counsel, when solicited, to his friends, even as he grappled with disillusionment over fraudulent psychics. With the passing on of his mother in 1946, he distanced himself from Spiritualism. However, in 1961, he encountered the renowned medium Rev. Florence Becker at San Francisco’s Golden Gate Spiritualist Church. Her demonstration and the guiding hand of Spirit rekindled his interest in Spiritualism, and Richard became her dedicated student and she, his beloved teacher. Soon, he was serving as a medium at Golden Gate and throughout the Bay Area, touching countless lives with his soul talent.

In 1964, while in a deep trance, he recorded the very first classes of what would become the Living Light Philosophy. That same year, he received his first certification for his mediumship from the National Spiritualist Association of Churches and made the courageous decision to leave behind his mundane job, dedicating himself fully to the service of the Spirit.

In 1968, guided by Spirit, Richard founded the Serenity Spiritualist Camp Association and later established the Serenity Spiritualist Church in Marin County in 1971. Every aspect of the church’s operations was governed by the wisdom of the Spirit Council through his mediumship. For years, Richard inspired, encouraged, and uplifted others—delivering lectures, holding seminars, and leading spiritual awareness classes, becoming a venerated spiritual leader, touching the hearts and minds of many. Even after the church closed its doors in 1985, Richard’s commitment to serving the Spirit endured: he continued to teach and guide others through public and private classes until his peaceful passing on to the higher life on February 24, 1989.
