I'm not sure removing the book altogether would be appropriate - after all, Mein Kampf is listed on GoodReads!!! - but I agree that the listing needs to be changed to make it clear what kind of book it is, so that readers can make up their own minds if they wish to read it.
I doubt it would be removed but in any case it is not something librarians have the authority to deal with.
I think readers can much better inform each other about the nature of the book with their comments. And I am pretty sure related comments will appear soon under the book!Besides, this thread is not relevant for the topic.
Lying in a memoir, or using a pen name is nothing new in publishing. It's GR users who make it clear what type of book it is by ratings, reviews and genres (shelves).
The title currently has ratings and reviews locked:
"Rating this book temporarily unavailable
This book has temporary limitations on submitting ratings and reviews. This may be because we’ve detected unusual behavior that doesn’t follow our review guidelines."
Goodreads makes it so users cannot update this information. ie. if too many people discuss the author of a book, Goodreads shuts the discussion down
Winn has a fourth book On Winter Hill coming out in October. The publisher might decide this type of controversy won't increase sales and choose not to publish, but the title is still on Goodreads. Its also locked to ratings and reviews but not fast enough to stop av rating of 1 star
