When Emilie’s parents offer her hand in marriage to the king of the neighboring realm, she’s determined to make the best of her situation. Her parents may expect her to be a pawn in their play for power but she has ambitions of her own.

To her delight, King Cyrus isn’t so bad. He’s handsome, a gentleman, and even charming. His brother Ladon, however, is a completely different story. He’s broody, sarcastic, and determined to make her life miserable. To him, she’s little more than a gold-digger.

Their rivalry grows amidst hurled insults—and sometimes knives—and Emilie begins to wonder if Ladon will ever accept her the way the rest of his family has.

While on a mission to one of the military outposts, they stumble into a vicious trap—one that ends with Emilie and Ladon being kidnapped and held hostage in enemy territory.

Their captor puts them through unspeakable atrocities, forcing them together emotionally and physically. Through endless suffering and torture, hatred dissolves into respect, admiration, and maybe something more. Working together is the only way for Emilie and Ladon to survive.

Elon | 1983 comments Is "The Bookish Box" a book subscription? It seems like it, but I'm not familiar with it.
But last I checked, I'm afraid they're not allowed to be added :(

But if I'm mistaken, and it should indeed be added, what is the actual date? It's highly unclear with "when it was listed"? And where is the image from?

Jordyn Bash | 49 comments Thank you so much for getting back to me! Sorry about that! Here are those Details:

* Publication Date Year: 2025
* Publication Date Month: July
* Publication Date Day: 16th

If you go to the Bookish Box website, you will find that we do in fact sell these books to the public both online and in our upcoming brick-and-mortar store.

"...it might be worth fleshing out the manual in that section to explain about membership/subscription sites like Owlcrate, Illumicrate, Fairyloot, The Bookish Box, etc that unless they are selling these exclusive editions to the general public (usually leftover/unsold inventory made available in the public online store) they don't meet GR criteria to be added based on the subscriber/member only method of obtaining them."

As this is a preorder, and we've sold out as of right now, they aren't currently available, but they were and will again when we sell additional copies at our brick-and-mortar storefront, The Bookish Shop, in Gilbert, Arizona. This applies to any and all of our editions.

As for the images, one is a screenshot of the copyright page of this edition and the other is the front cover.

Hi, we appreciate your patience as we work through the tremendous backlog (+-5500 requests). Please, do not bump this request too much as it might take longer by librarians to complete because most work from last activity to recent activity. Meanwhile if you want to read more about why your request hasn’t been completed yet, you can follow this link: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/... . Thank you for your understanding.
