I read this at work tonight... Was a bit lost at first since so much changed between books mostly in regards to cracked and semi cracked individuals... I just rolled with it...

Now I'm in the final hour and it's bonkers, like something out of Deathstalker...

(view spoiler)[ Time travel shenanigans, visions of the future... So much stuff that the feuding Families kinda took a backseat to the plot... And even the Canum beyond the World Stuff...

And then Nyra solved it in like 5 minutes when she went scorched Earth and made 1000 imprints of herself to hive mind beat the enemies...

Now in the last 45m I need to see if this is a happy ending or sad ending... (hide spoiler)]

I eye read this over the course of the last week or so, and agree with pretty much everything you've said so far--(view spoiler)[tons of twists and shenanigans and then whoop. Tied up. And Deus Ex Machina'd. Still fun, but feels eh, kinda cheating. Also, Jonsun is a dick and I was very happy when he got ripped apart. (hide spoiler)]

I kept thinking during that--all this time, all this (view spoiler)[research into Cracking by Tarquin's father, who was obsessed and used a LOT of MERIT's resources, and now K & Fletcher were able to just... fix Tarquin in a day? Somewhat unbelievable...

I didn't mind Fletch's rehabilitation as unbelievable, since he was on the fence a lot in the last book... being free of Canus helped...

Definitely a lot of contradictions though, and dropped storylines, if squint too close... like what was the rest of MERIT up to in the meanwhile???? Or the World, at the end? The rest of the universe just got dropped. (hide spoiler)]

It kind of feels like she had decision paralysis--too many path ideas, having trouble deciding which to take the book down--and tried to put all of them in...

Still enjoyable, just don't squint too hard.
