I really enjoy reading about Maisie Dobbs, Psychologist and Investigator, and this book leaves me feeling more excited about future books in the series.
In the summer of 1932, Maisie Dobbs’s career takes an exciting new turn when she accepts an undercover assignment directed by Scotland Yard’s Special Branch and the Secret Service. Posing as a junior lecturer, she is sent to a private college in Cambridge to monitor any activities, “not in the interests of His Majesty’s Government.”
I enjoyed reading about Maisie’s classroom experiences. She takes the job seriously and connects with many students, Soon however, the college’s controversial founder is murdered. Maisie is not supposed to investigate the murder, but of course she does. She uncovers information about Britain’s conduct during the Great War, that seems shameful. The story promises more interesting developments to come.
