The Last Happy Summer question

Can someone please explain to me why the Kindle version contains so many spelling, punctuation, and grammar errors, including missing words?
I am currently reading the fourth book in this series, which is excellent, but the errors are very distracting. This is not uncommon, unfortunately, for all Kindle books.
