Query about merging

Hi, I've never had to merge editions yet and don't want to mess it up so I'll ask first.
The paperback book has an ISBN but there is also a combined edition with an ASIN. Amazon shows the ASIN & ISBN belong to the same edition. All info on GR is identical. I think they should be merged. Am I right?
If so then would the ISBN or ASIN transfer to whichever edition is kept when the other edition is deleted and which should be deleted, the ASIN edition or ISBN edition?

As I said, I've never merged editions before so I seek the wisdom of those more experienced than me.

When merging editions, only reviews are moved. If ISBN/ASIN transfer is required, only staff can do it.
