But just like there are intuitive eaters, I consider myself to be "an intuitive reader" I check in with myself throughout my reading experience and pause when I am "satiated"
Even if it's in the middle of a chapter!
Sometimes I will slowly work my way through a book over the course of many months so I can savor it. I am doing that with House of Leaves and In the Buddha's Words right now.

Can take two days or a month!
Been averaging a book a week so far this year, but again that's an average... because 4-5 of those books have been 800-900 pages, and a few have been under a hundred! lol

The colder months is usually when I get more of my reading done. And then sometimes I’ll read more than one book in a day. Or 3-4 books a week

- the length of the book (obviously!)
- the days of the week (I can read more on the weekend)
- which format it's in (I can read my kindle or books on my phone while I'm on the move or washing up or eating, a paperback or hardback take me longer)
- how much I'm enjoying it or how engaging it is
On average, I'd say a week for most standard novels. Novellas less time, YA less time. That said, my reading list since January would suggest I'm closer to an average of 7 books per month.
