Sofi🪿 | 69 comments So I’m moving to the us soon and I’ve never been there. Can you guys give me any advice on like how to act/dress to fit in. Also I’ll be going to school there and I’m super nevouse. Any advice is welcome tyyy

lilly ♡ (semi-hiatus, reading slump) | 1473 comments heyyyy!! at my school no one cares what u wear. some people show up in sweats and hoodies and some people were skirts and dresses. so just wear whatever you want honestly!! and you'll find your group of people !!

❤️Tails❤️ | 49 comments Be yourself, be confident. You’ll find your people

ella | 2650 comments be yourself idk why you would have to act or dress a certain way. I feel like fitting in was designed for a weird algorithm of feeling insecure and trying to be like everyone else just be yourself

message 5: by Viola (new)

Viola | 24 comments As many people have already said, just be yourself! Also, if I was you, I would already decide what I would respond if someone asked me about politics. I think many people there can get mad if you have very different opinions than them because people there have opinions about politics that vary very much (since there's many major changes happening in the US right now in politics), and even though you shouldn't let anyone have an impact on your opinion, I would maybe recommend just preparing an answer for the people asking about your opinion about the politics. Something like "I'm not really into politics so I don't know" is good in my opinion.

message 6: by ella (new)

ella | 2650 comments I honestly feel like people aren't gonna ask you that question like that would be weird honestly

Sofi🪿 | 69 comments I don’t really know anything about amrican politics anyways lol but thank youuuu

ouuu cool! iv never acc been there (😔)

id say just read a couple books, watch a couple shows, so you could maybe relate to people cuz I think relating to someone makes it so much more easier to connect with them!!!

message 21: by ella (new)

ella | 2650 comments well she already reads books since she's on here

ella | 2650 comments that comment made no sense in my opinion

message 26: by ella (new)

ella | 2650 comments that really doesn't sound rude yet I'm also autistic and since being brutally honest is apparently being rude to the neurotypical eye so I never have luck on the internet which I don't care

message 27: by ella (new)

ella | 2650 comments (I forgot to clarify because then people think I'm being offensive or defensive. I just wanted to say. that no need for sorry :) I was thus expressing myself)

message 29: by Benji (new)

Benji | 180 comments 1) join a fitness club, book discussion group, acting class.
Usually in these areas in a new environment can give acquaintances that lead to friends, sometimes it leads to something more.

* Show up to events you actually care about and enjoy. Don't fake it to fit in. That group may unsettle you and lead to a miserable existence.

2) Essentials wardrobe alters on your environment. Heat/Cold. Yet if your clothes are basic & cheap, it opens up lanes for you to fluctuate with your personality.

*That's the real key. It's nothing fancy, it's all about attitude. If they care more about the price tag of your clothes. They evaluate you on wealth not as a person. Despite your history, present, hopeful future.

3) Not everyone is going to like you. But some will give you a chance to be their friend. Focus on those who choose you not the ones who don't.

4) Some people will just suck. No place in this world is perfect.

5) You don't need to be outgoing, although it makes it easier. Sometimes all you have to do is be present & a extrovert may introduce themselves to you... Not always, but their is always one present.

This should help...
