how to improve my writing!

hey! i love reading and writing, and i have lots of ideas for plots! however, I’m having a bit of a writing slump. i just don’t know how to phrase certain things, and struggle with opening the story, especially the first few lines/paragraphs. do you guys have any tips? thank you so much!!

don't focus too much on the details in the beginning, and don't force yourself to write a perfect opening paragraph. just get your story down before you start trying to phrase things more correctly. once you've done that, and you know your story and your writing better, doing the opening will come much more naturally. it doesn't have to be perfect at first

i'd say read! don't focus too much on your own writer's block so much, and read whenever you can. i always like to read books slightly through the lens of a writer, too, and that always seems to get me out of having stale and difficult problems
