hello, is it possible to re-read a book in a different edition and keep both in my shelves?

Yes.Go to the book page of the 2nd edition, scroll down to Ratings & Reviews, you will see an arrow, it will take you to the Review page of the new edition. You can even just add the new edition to your shelves from this point without adding a review.
