Hi writers! I’m Alexis, and I’m now offering paid beta reading services. I hold a B.A. in Comparative Literature and have over six years of experience as a volunteer beta reader. After years of offering thoughtful, detailed feedback to writers in various communities, I’m now looking to take the next step and offer my services professionally.

As both a passionate writer and an avid reader, I understand the creative process from both sides. My goal is to help you strengthen your work while honoring your voice and vision. I provide in-depth, honest feedback focused on essential elements such as characterization and motivation, plot structure and conflict, pacing, setting and worldbuilding, dialogue, technique and style, and overall impressions. If there are particular aspects of your manuscript you’d like me to focus on, I’m happy to tailor my feedback to suit your needs.

I’m open to beta reading a wide range of projects, from short stories and novels to poetry and narrative nonfiction. I welcome work from all genres. If your piece includes potentially triggering content, I ask that you include a content warning so I can approach it with care and preparation.

In addition to beta reading, I can also serve as a sensitivity reader for some groups of Indian (country) people and queer people, based on my lived experience and familiarity with certain cultural and identity-specific nuances.
