L J L | 8 comments I would like to get this book added to my author profile:
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...

Also it automatically comes to a different unclaimed author profile from Amazon - is there a way to just merge that to mine so when the paperback version shows up on June 17th it will automatically show under my profile?

The unclaimed author profile: https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...

My profile I would like to merge it into or replace it for future Amazon books.

Scott | 9549 comments Moved.

You can fix your name on Amazon to avoid this.

L J L | 8 comments Would love to. Double checking everything I believe Amazon is correct and I need to update my Author profile on Goodreads from L.J.L to L J L

I've tried many times to update this but only users with librarian status can edit book and author data. Would that update help avoid this in the future (and me having to bother the Librarians)?

That would be incorrect to GR policy.

L J L | 8 comments Understood. I'll keep looking into how to change an Amazon Author name (haven't found the option yet).

In the meantime I noticed the book that was moved earlier (thank you by the way) was moved to a new author page and not my GR author page (even though it shares the same picture.

The new author page that appears to have just been created with the new book: https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...

My official author page: https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...

What steps do I need to take to resolve or merge these pages?

Thank you again for all the help.

Scott | 9549 comments You will have to ask support to correct your profile. Odd that the other one has your picture on it..

L J L | 8 comments Just to follow up - is it going to be possible to move the book to my actual author profile?

I also did some digging and found my author name was changed by a librarian back when I first got the author account to claim my first book from the name that matches what is on Amazon:

name: 'L J L' to 'L.J.L.L'
about: '' to ''
country_code: '' to ''
influences: '' to ''
url: '' to ''
genre1: '' to ''
genre2: '' to ''
genre3: '' to ''
hometown: '' to ''

I'm really hoping to get this updated because there is no correction to make to my Amazon Author account (if I change it there then it will not match what is printed in the books) just to the one here on GR to match what I originally entered for my profile here.

Scott | 9549 comments Don't call out other librarians. You need to have your name corrected to L.J.L., which is the correct format for GR.

L J L | 8 comments Post edited - apologies, did not mean to call out other librarians.

Just to be clear - I will have to have Amazon change this before I can get the new book changed to my profile? To avoid future errors my current author profile name is L.J.L (no period after the last L) if I have it changed on Amazon to L.J.L. I feel it will still be mis-linked between Amazon and GR.

Sorry if I'm being a pain I was hoping to start running some ads on GR leading up to my launch but if the book page isn't linked correctly I don't think I can choose it on the advertising form.

Scott | 9549 comments GR Support needs to correct your name to have full punctuation. Changing it on Amazon will help the books link in future.
