We first met Emmy Lake in Dear Mrs. Bird and now in 1941 she is fully situated at Women's Friend magazine and working on the advice column.

Mr. Collins recently promoted to editor is willing to expand on Emmy's duties and she begins to interview women at a munitions factory to support the war effort and encourage women to help out.

Her love life is picking up as well and it is heart warming to see.

These are really feel good novels and a great read if you need a pick me up.
