It’s pretty melancholy, but I really like June and I enjoy seeing the evolution of her and her family’s attitudes, but oy, the AIDS and the homophobia

It’s interesting to think about how both Finn and Toby are safe spaces for adolescent desire for June.

Why didn’t I choose more happy stuff?
I think the nature of YA is angsty in general. All of them had a bit of it. I'm reading this one starting this weekend
I just couldn't get into this one. I've been in a bit of a slump and nothing was good. It's probably just me, so I'm out on this.
