Synopsis: Act 1 follows Blair—a determined and resourceful social worker—who slowly uncovers a clandestine and corrupt operation within a government-affiliated social services system. At the center of this operation is the "Achievement Program," a scheme that appears designed to target and exploit high-achieving foster youth. As Blair navigates a maze of unauthorized system access, manipulated evidence, and escalating surveillance, she battles both external forces (corrupt administrators, government operatives, and hidden conspiracies) and internal conflicts sparked by loyalty, personal risk, and moral duty.

Format: Word or PDF (with included links to Google Forms)

word count: 65,748k

Triggers: Profanity use

Type of feedback I require: I have a small group of committed betas that will also be reading other manuscripts but need at least 5 more sets of eyes on this one. I'm sending it out in phases - Acts 1, 2, and 3 because it has started to get jumbled and I need to break it up. (Ghostwriting projects and other obligations have my words and stories mashing up together.)

At the end of each chapter are links to Google Forms for feedback. Here are the chapter feedback questions to let you know what I’m looking for:

Chapter Feedback
How engaging was this chapter on a scale of 1-10?,
Were there any confusing parts? If so, which ones?,
Did the characters' actions and dialogue feel authentic?,
Was the pacing appropriate for a thriller?,
What was your favorite part of this chapter?,
Any suggestions for improvement?,
What emotions did this chapter evoke for you?,
Were there any parts that you felt could be enhanced with more detail or description?,

At the end of Act 1, there is also an Overall Feedback form link. Here are the questions for that form:

Overall Feedback
How would you rate the overall plot coherence?,
Were there any plot holes or inconsistencies?,
Which characters did you find most/least compelling?,
Did the ending satisfy you? Why or why not?,
What themes or messages did you discern from the story?,
Did you find the story’s length appropriate? Would you prefer it to be longer or shorter?,
How likely are you to recommend this story to others? (1-10),
Any additional comments or suggestions?,

Feedback Expectations
As you read, I kindly ask that you keep the following feedback expectations in mind:
Honesty is Key: Please share both what you enjoyed and aspects that may need improvement.,
Details Matter: Specific examples strengthen your feedback—let me know what worked and what didn’t.,
Use of Rating Scales: Your scores on key areas will help me assess your experience.,
Emotional Engagement: What emotions did the story evoke for you?,
Overall Impressions: Would you recommend this version to others based on what you've read so far?,
Responding to Questions: Please answer the questions in the feedback form to create a comprehensive overview of your thoughts.,
Suggestions for Improvement: Any thoughts on how to enhance the story are greatly appreciated!,

(NOTE: I am not collecting email addresses in the forms, so I won’t know who you are unless you email or post here that you have submitted feedback through the forms.)

Please let me know if you are interested and the best way to contact you.
