We believe that there is a power in being exposed to the things that make us uncomfortable. That’s why VOLUME Ø highlights — and yes, celebrates — the sordid, salacious, awkward, and taboo topics that too often don't get talked about. We're not afraid to provoke real feelings: shock, disgust, dissonance, even anger, both to push the limits of polite society and also to entertain. Here we serve up visceral, unsettling stories with endings that deliver a punch.
The Moon is the Tapestry, a Nightmare 1 star (view spoiler)[ Well it started off with elon musk soooo. The best part of the story is that it was short. (hide spoiler)]
Next to Cleanliness 2 star (view spoiler)[ Hum...started out kind of okay. It's about cleansings and the bizarre things people will do if a doctor says they should. (hide spoiler)]
The Process 2 star (view spoiler)[ This story started out interesting but ended very strangely. I'm not sure what Ernestine got from her job at the bull sperm place and how it made it so she was able to get a tubal. (hide spoiler)]
Date Night 1 star (view spoiler)[ Well that was awful. A couple are at a restaurant on a date and when the man goes to the bathroom, he comes back and the women sees that he has wiped his face so hard that he has removed part of it. She then shows him that she peeled some of her skin off her arm. I think there might be a lesson here but it was so disgusting that I just couldn't grasp it. (hide spoiler)]
Milk Bubbles 1 star (view spoiler)[ Just when you think it can't get any worse, it does. A boy has a kink, he picks up used condoms and chew them. I mean from streets, etc. It's just gross. (hide spoiler)]
Game Over 3 star (view spoiler)[ Virgil appears to be a retired attorney. He's married to Faye who is out of town. He had 3 kids and an affair with a police officer. It appears that he has dementia and/or Alzheimer. His wife has left specific instructions for him as well as a book with information about his family. He goes for a walk, as he does twice a day every day, only to get a call from his former lover, Jason, about one of Fay's family. He wanders off, removing his trackable. Jason does find him, only to leave him to dye of exposure. (hide spoiler)]
