Which kind of translation would you prefer to read?

(A. an easy-to-read but simplified version / B. a complete but scholarly version)
for example, when it comes to Journey to the West, many translaters' names occur to me. For example, Arthur Waley, Anthony C.Yu , Jenner, etc. Actually, what impresses me most is the tanslation of Arthur Waley & Anthony C.Yu. Details are as follows.
Arthur Waley's version: concise due to focusing on Sun Wukong, the most influentious one.
Anthony C.Yu's version: the first complete translation, high cultural precision.
Anyway, as for me, I prefer the latter, because I'm totally fond of Chinese culture. In his translation, a particularly large number of Chinese cultural elements have been retained, such as Taoism, the Five Elements and so on.
