Abandoned requests

I don't really think they should be closed. There are any number of reasons why someone might not be able to return in time. I've seen unanswered threads closed after a month and I think that's extreme.
If we have to put a time on it, I would say six months to a year.
So do you think we should still ask for further info even after several months have passed? I don't want get moaned at for reviving older requests by posting in them.Since GR, in their infinite wisdom, turned off default notifications there are thousands of requests where librarians have asked for more info which simply never get answered and likely never will be. Want to make sure I'm not doing wrong.
In cases where no librarian has asked for additional information for several months, it is sad, but I think we have no choice but to write now and wait for a response (which in 95% of cases will not happen).I think one month is more than enough. I regularly check unanswered requests from a month ago and close them.

For example a request made in January with no librarian response and no followup/bump by the poster. No link included and missing info but if we respond now and ask for the missing info and a link it's just resurrecting an older post and the requester may not even still be a member. Should we close it. What timescale?
