like, it's a human thing, plenty of people have it in varying degrees.
It needs to be more normalized because it's beautiful as a human trait. I also think a lot of people fail to understand that bad acne is also REALLY painful and the pressure to have flawless skin causes a lot of people with bad acne to cover it up with makeup which only tends to make it worse

Yeah bad acne is wayyyy too hated on. Honestly I find acne beautiful, humans are meant to be flawed and all flaws can be beautiful. Why should people be hated for their skin? It’s a long way from their brain.

okay so ive never had acne ( except for the ocassional zit/pimple ) but i will say that i find acne absolutely beautiful and everyone who has it, as painful as it is, should embrace it cause yall look fantastic with or without 💕

My siblings and I have all had bad acne and omgosh guys lowk sometimes products DONT work, ok? and putting makeup on to cover it? SO BAD FOR yoUR SKIN it makes the acne WORSE. So, yeah, society is too harsh on us. Cause there's nothing we can do about it, it's like getting mad at you for having blue eyes or something.

Agreed. I think it should definitly be normalized, and no one should ever be made fun of for their acne. I mean, its pretty common for people to get zits, and its not right for them to become outcast or anything just because people think its ugly or gross.

js bc its visible doesnt mean theyre not being healthy
i mean if its a medical concern then id go to a dermatologist instead of normalizing it past that point
but everyones skin is different and no one should be discriminated for their skin. as long as theyre staying healthy. even if theyre not healthy with it, still dont make fun of them for it? it can happen literally overnight

As someone who has had the WORST acne on and off for at least 5 years I can say that people are way too horrible about it. The first thing that gets noticed about you, is your acne. People act like it's your whole fricken personality when they don't even know you. When your face is js having a bad acne day (literally today for me) people INSTANTLY pick up on it. I cannot count the amount of times people have told me to hide my face or put makeup on. Like, NO. people act like it's THEIR face that has acne, so they insult and comment on yours. So yes, society hates on people with acne way to much, and it makes people insecure. Personally it one time got so bad for me that I have refused to leave the house when it's bad on multiple occasions. So you know what? Own it. Be yourself. If people dislike your FACE then maybe they're just being insecure in their own beauty so take it out on others.

Man that's so awful, personally my skin has always been pretty clear but I just genuinely think acne's beautiful? Like, acne and acne scars are so pretty and I feel like people just can't seem to accept the beauty in being human because in order to fit into the CURRENT beauty standards we have to dehumanize ourselves and reform our bodies.
Also Jesus Christ yeah makeup makes everything so much worse, all the chemicals in makeup can make anyone's complexion worse, like I can't ever wear a full face (not that I really feel a need to :P) because a lot of foundations make me develop a rash or blotchy red irritated skin.

I feel like people are way too harsh on people with acne rather it is very minimal or extreme. People automatically assume that because the person has acne that it is because they aren't a hygienic person and that they need to wash their face more. There are lots of factors that contribute to people having acne. Using myself as an example I have blackheads on my nose and I've had them for a while no matter how much I clean my face or use nose strips they come back. That doesn't mean I don't keep my face clean because I wash my face at least 2 times daily. Things like eating too much sugar can lead to acne. Along with endocrine/hormonal disorders, puberty, medications, diet, stress, and even some of the skin care products people use. Most of these circumstances are unavoidable and hard to change and most people experience acne in their lives. So why are people so critical of others who have acne? Why do they wear makeup that makes the acne 10x worse?

exactly!!! honestly i don't even think acne is that big of a deal, people are way too hyped up about putting down those with acne when it's literally something that ninety percent of us have.

there’s no way around it — it’s shown in tv/movies & magazines (and now social media)… i don’t have kids but i have no idea how to handle this topic in teaching someone that REGARDLESS of their human flesh suit, beauty ALWAYS is in the heart and mind.
