Anna Ward-Gow (pinkjumpers) | 2 comments Hi,

The description/blurb of this book:

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...

is not accurate, it is actually written in the book as follows:

Attraction between opposites is a theme as old as literature, but seldom is the difference so wide as in this novel. For the heroine is a sophisticated journalist, a woman of Jewish descent, and the man she is attracted to — whom she has gone to interview — is a Grand Dragon of the Ku Klux Klan.

She is Jewish, but not really, she believes; she considers herself smoothly assimilated into the general culture. And he is a Klansman, but not really, she believes; he is too young, too handsome, too intelligent and reasonable. It is unthinkable that she could be drawn to this man — her own mother had grown up in a town where, at night, neighbours turned into Klansmen who menaced Jews. Yet her parents' admonitions strike her as outmoded and quaint, residual insecurities from another, less civilized time. She finds herself yielding to the fantasy that the enemy might not be a beast after all.

Told with wisdom and humour, 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘎𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘋𝘳𝘢𝘨𝘰𝘯 is an unusual and powerful novel novel about the deceptions of the flesh and the meaning of heritage beneath the veneer of modern America.

[If you can change this, that'd be great! Thank you!]
