•Romance
•Academic rivals to lovers

-"I'm willing to lose everything," he says, his eyes blacker than the surrounding dark- ness, than the sky outside, "so long as I don't lose you."
-"You were right, Sadie Wen. I am completely, helplessly obsessed with you."

*If you like Korean/Chinese dramas, it's that, just as a book instead!! The author's other books are just as good!

WOODBOUND: ASHES OF FATE
Fantasy | 13,347 words | Book 1 of a planned trilogy (with potential for 5+ books)

A man awakens beneath a forest older than the stars, his name lost, his past stripped away. In his lap rests a living branch of Yggdrasil, the World Tree, calling him toward a purpose he cannot yet remember. Guided only by a raven he carves from its wood, Endrin follows the ancient roots into a fate woven long before his first breath.

But the forest is dying. Beneath its sacred soil, an ancient being known as the Seer spreads a corruption that twists life and memory alike. As the darkness coils through the roots of Yggdrasil and into the realms beyond, Endrin must confront visions of a life forgotten and a future undone. To stand as Guardian, he must not only master the wild magic now awakening within him, he must risk everything he loves to preserve the fragile threads that hold the worlds together.

Blending lyrical prose, emotional depth, and vivid mythic worldbuilding, WoodBound: Ashes of Fate is an intimate, character-driven fantasy exploring the sacred bonds between nature, memory, and the human heart. It will appeal to readers of The Bear and the Nightingale, The Witcher, and The Broken Earth Trilogy.

Ashes of Fate is the first installment in a planned trilogy, with the world, characters, and narrative arc developed for seamless expansion into a five-book series and beyond.

Sophia Zane | 44 comments Totally depends on what you’re in the mood for!

If you’re into historical fiction, anything by Philippa Gregory is a great place to start.

😱 For thrillers, Stephen King always delivers—Misery or The Outsider are favorites.

🖤 And if you want something with psychological suspense, emotional tension, and a slow burn, I’d recommend The Lies We Whisper. (It’s mine—just being honest!) It has similar vibes to Verity or The Silent Patient.

If you haven’t read either of those, I’d recommend starting there too!

Kayla Gerdes | 25 comments The Circle The Masked and The Marked By: Lillian Minx Monroe
One pact. Seven sinners. And a past that’s come back… hard.

Ten years ago, they ruled the night in masks and whispers—swapping partners, sealing secrets in dark corners, and pushing the limits of desire inside a private circle no one dared question. But secrets have teeth. And now, someone’s baring theirs.

Lennox is dead. Ritual-style. Brutal. And marked with a symbol no one was ever supposed to use again.

Now the original Circle—Cash, Monroe, Jolene, Judson, Weston, Journee, and Abilene—must reunite in the aftermath of a murder that smells like memory. Old flames reignite. Lust spirals out of control. And the danger? It’s watching. Always watching.

Everyone’s a suspect. Everyone’s got something to hide.
And the one pulling the strings knows exactly what they did behind those doors.
Because he was there.

Dripping with forbidden heat, buried guilt, and twisted obsession, The Circle: The Masked and The Marked is a dark, seductive thriller where love is messy, lies are kinked, and the truth?
The truth likes to watch.
