Today we are celebrating National Donut Day. National Donut Day falls on the first Friday of June every year. Yes, there is a 2nd day less popular National Donut Day celebrated on the US Marine Corps birthday. This National Donut Day, however, was started as a way to cheer up soldiers who were risking their lives during the war. At home, it became a way to raise funds for Salvation Army's activities on the battlefield.
