Biker Someone I knew was at that party, but I don't know if he had sex with the woman, and he had so much sex in those days he might not even remember. Toby is correct, we can't understand a gangbang in 1965, because what does a hedonistic "happening" in '65 have to do with (almost) the year 2010? There's an enormous amount of porn today, but it is mostly all far more disgusting than the gangbangs at La Honda, and there were half a dozen of them that summer. Not that I was there, but I was told all about it later, in '69, when Bob and Carol and Ted and Alice was released and that sort of thing lost its taboo.
And then it wasn't quite as fun, I guess; as it got commercialized, with bored and boring actors.
This 'Cassady ex-wife' (she was never really his wife, though) gangbang is so notoriously popular because it is more interesting than the boring porn of today.

Okay, let's figure: Thompson says she was penetrated at least fifty times and probably more, and that a hard core of 8 or 10 kept at her for several hours. So ten guys took three turns each (thirty intercourses) and another 30 guys took one turn each. So she probably was penetrated by 40 or 50 guys, and some other guys fondled her vagina. Plus "later on she was taken back for another session".
So maybe 80-100 people had sex with her or fondled her vagina that day and early the next morning? Out of a total of approx. 200 people at the party.
Thompson always said "people" had sex with her, and not men, so maybe some women touched her... well, you know.
So I wonder how many people WATCHED?
Did most of the people at the party watch for a short while each, at different times in the small cabin? Were any of the 'onlookers' children? Did any teenage boys have sex with her?
With the pranksters, who would be surprised?
I heard the later 5 or 6 gangbangs that summer were even wilder, you can only imagine.
Was it degrading? yes, but that is obviously why they enjoyed it. It wasn't Mary Poppins.

Feliks You seem unduly fascinated by this part of the book.

Burrr.
