♡Beth♡ | 13 comments I think the hardest thing when you are starting out is finding the time to sit down and write. I stare at a screen all day at work and then get home and cook and clean and run around after the dogs and when I get a free moment I don't really want to spend more time tied to a screen. I have this great story growing in my mind, but I am struggling to just get it down onto paper 😔

Deb ~I promise that I'll love you for the rest of my life~ | 7 comments I have the beginning and ending of my first draft sorta started but how in the world do I figure out the middle like I know what point a and point be are for the first book in the series I want to write as well as the back stories of some of the side characters in the first and second book but how do I write the middle? Also my book takes place in a fantasy world based on Ancient Greece and Greek mythology but how much of it can be my own creation and how much do I actually need to take from the original sources? And how much of my world building do I need done before I write?

Hi ^^,
fantasy writer.
I usually try to find key events and connect them together. When you weave your stories together, you might find yourself connecting the dots without realizing it. Draw a map. It usually helps.
As for backstory, don't just throw it in all at once, but try to throw it in "here and there" (if it makes sense). For example, show the characters' background through their actions and small references to their past.
But take my advice with a grain of salt, as it comes from someone who has only written one book. :)

ray_rose ੈ✩‧₊˚ | 6 comments imo it's defo losing interest for me b/c i have short attention span. I'll end up starting one idea, plan an entire outline for events and all that, and then like a chapter or two in - I WANT TO SCRAP IT AND WRITE SOMETHING NEW. it's so grrrr i hate it so much :(

AbnormalVA (Semi-Hiatus) | 3 comments Writing a scene with two characters that use the same pronouns and having to refer to them with their Names over and over again because you worry that people won't be able to tell which character you're talking about. THE STRUGGLE IS NEVER ENDING OMG T^T

Sophia Zane | 1 comments Oh my gosh-so many.
Will they like it? What will they think of me?
Writing the book was hard enough… then came the editing. And the re-editing. And reading it for the tenth time and still somehow missing a word a comma, or a quote or letter.

Publishing? lol
Ask me how many times I had to resubmit my cover.
Or how I fat-fingered the title and uploaded the first version with an extra letter—because I didn’t double-check my work.
I didn’t even know I needed ARCs.

And marketing? It’s like having a full-time job on top of my full-time job.
Except this one is way more fun… and way more frustrating.

But the best part?
The readers.
Hearing what they felt. What stuck with them.
That connection? That’s everything. 🖤

Arimi Reads (arimireads) | 21 comments I wanted to do an alternative scene x emo boy romance but I have no freaking idea how tonwrite it withoutbit sounding like some sort of quotev fanfiction. I used to spend hours writing books on thag website for fun. but the main thing stopping me is although it's a market to be tapped into I can't write a book about someone who isn't my type. the thing is my type has always been unattainable to me . and my current boyfriend isn't my type. so I'm scared to write the book because whilst I appreciate my boyfriend who is helping me through my mental health struggles. I'm scared to write a book where I could find something about myself thag I'm not read to. and I'm also scared to understand my type. I know I'm not my boyfriends type from our conversations and I got to be honest I'm not mad. I enjoy his company. I enjoy our conversations. its nice to have someone and his family who care although they don't understand me too much. having human connection is nice. i know I probably sound ungrateful but. my boyfriend is like a star in a void I feel like ive been floating in for years. I want to write. but what if it ends up hurting the one who is trying to love and understand me you know ?
